Sorry for the short diary this time. I just received a response from Irene W. Stein, a superdelegate, who endorsed Clinton. Below is a letter (admittedly very harsh) and her response. I'll delete this diary if folks think it is not newsworthy enough

This diary will be a bit thin on content but I was thinking today of 2 lines for our party to go into. On the one side, we have Barack Obama, who has taken over the Kennedy mantle and who spoke of positive change in the country. Meanwhile, we had Bill and Hillary Clinton, out arguing with a message full of rancor, about how it's all about THEM, how unfair people were to HER..

Dear Mr. Hicks:

I was with great distress yesterday that I read of Congressman Rodriguez' decision to endorse Hillary Clinton for President in the presidential primary. I want to be perfectly clear here: under normal circumstances, Hillary Clinton would be a viable candidate who could win the election and even be a fine president. I fully support the ability of superdelegates to get behind the candidate of their choice under our Democratic primary system. However, it is now painfully clear that Hillary Clinton cannot mathematically win this race. Barack Obama has an insurmountable lead in delegates, the agreed upon metric to win this contest. He is far ahead in the popular vote, her campaign is deeply in debt. Beyond that, she has used destrutive and non-productive racist rhetoric, not unlike that directed toward Mexican Americans by the Republicans in the previous election cycle.

This is a letter I am writing to CT Superdelegate Ellen Camhi. I tried really hard to make this fair, appeal with reasoning and apply it to the Connecticut situation in particular. I urge each and every one of you to start writing letters to the superdelegates in his/her state. Her is my letter (excuse the bad formatting, I just pasted this):

About less than 2 months ago I was an Edwards supporter. Then he dropped out. I was open to Hillary or Barack. To be honest, some Obama supporters on this site, with their claims they would "vote McCain over Hillary" frankly almost drove me to the Hillary camp. But I listened and learned.

This will be a short diary. I am growing increasingly concerned about MI and FL. I think it is very important to take this weapon from Hillary BEFORE August. Obviously, Michigan is the more complex of the two. Obama was NOT on the ballot there. But perhaps once he is over the top, the can give the votes Hillary earned in MI to her and it won't matter.

Dear Peter,

It’s been a while since you’ve posted here.  Perhaps that is because you feel the reaction here was hostile.  I want to say that, although I have become an Obama supporter, I respect what you do. It is difficult to be an online campaign director and be fighting to defend your candidate, particularly in this current environment. I would not like to have your job nor that of your counterpart on the Obama campaign. For what it is worth, I believe you fervently and genuinely stand behind Hillary and truly believe in her candidacy and that you are truly convinced she would be the best choice for president.

This should be filed under "Duh" but here goes. I found some of the in-fighting that went on here last night disturbing. The different camps get overly passionate, many nasty things are said. However, last night I say many people actually seriously pondering the concept of not voting for Hillary in the general if she is the primary winner. However
this diary in particular broke my heart: An African-American member of the community stated that her family would be voting Republican over Hillary. Join me below for a discussion of why this is such a poor choice.

So there is a prominent piece over at Huffington Post hereregarding a possible run by Bloomberg saying he is interested in Chuck Hagel as a running mate. The possibility of this concerns me as I feel that Democrats would bleed more votes than Republican, quite possibly resulting in another Republican victory. Join me below

Now, wait, this is not a diary defending Hillary. I continue to be an Edwards supporter and Hillary remains about my fourth or fifth choice to be the candidate. The closer we get to primary date, the more "I hate" X diaries continue to pop up. At the moment, there are not 1 but 2 recommended diaries taking team Hillary to task for bringing up Barack Obama's drug use, as if one were not enough. [Disclosure: I am an Edwards supporter, will support any Dem primary winner, I did right 1 negative Barack diary on the McClurkin issue because I was very upset about it]. I have an idea: there are people in our country who hate African Americans, white supremacists and the like. But they vote. And it would be nice to have their votes. So what if we put together a tour with some white suprematist for candidate X to appeal to a very conservative audience in say, Texas. Oh, and for balance, we'll invite Jessie Jackson on the tour too. Sound good? What, your horrified? Say it is not acceptable? You're absolutely right. Well I am flabbergasted at all of this campaigning for front page posters. We've seen compromising videos shown of some of the candidates from 26 years ago. Some of the candidates have been swift-boated, suggesting they are pro-pie. I suggest we cut through the crap now. The following application is to be filled out by all potential front-pagers and to be evaluated by the community. Absolute honesty is expected or at very least a compelling lie. You will be graded for punctuation, grammar and aura. You're elementary school teachers are on stand-by for questioning. GO to the application below..if you dare...

While I was bitterly disappointed about Ned, I was also extremely disappointed that Diane Farrell lost to Shays. It now looks like the rest of our CT house delegation will be Democratic. I want a matched set!
